On Rob Harris

Harris was so influential as a DJ that just listening to one of his mix tapes was a history lesson that could elevate your DJ game.

How was he playing Paradise Garage tracks in a basement party under a Mexican Restaurant on Redondo Beach Blvd?

On my first day of high school, I walked into the quad, following the sound of music.

What was taking place is near-mythological now. Rob and Danny were spinning music on four turntables at once. They were wearing all white, both with series 1 Air Jordans and thick grey socks.

I wonder what they got paid for the gig. And how many lives they changed that day.

I mean, who how why?

The Cerwin-Vega speakers stacked two high, horn tweeter to horn.
